I thought it was going to be the best Monday ever... but Mondays aren't supposed to be a great day, I suppose.
I woke up and started getting ready for my day. As I was in the bathroom doing my hair, Massage Envy called and I got uber stoked. Chris told me I could work part time and to come in to set up a schedule.
I went there to Massage Envy at noon. I brought my NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork) certificate with me as proof. Then he asks if I had one from the state. Well, obviously not. He goes on the Board of Nursing website to look me up, and I'm not there. I get so upset. I can't work there, or anywhere for that matter, until I get my State certificate. In Virginia you have to be both State and Nationally certified. Yes Matt, it's the same for Illinois!
Well, I don't know who to blame, myself, NCBTMB, or the Board of Nursing. I think I did everything that I needed to. I sent in all my stuff to NCBTMB and the Board of Nursing the day after Ms. Penas gave me everything but I received a note from the Board of Nursing like a month later saying they haven't received my scores or NCBTMB hadn't send them. I was just hoping they didn't have them YET and I waited it out. Obviously I should have done something about it. I have proof that they took the money out of my account and everything so I'm wondering what I can to do about it? Do I have to resend NCBTMB the form and money for them to send the Board of Nursing my scores? I don't really want to pay twice for their mistake.
This career of mine sure does take me on loOps.
Well, after driving 30 minutes to Short Pump only to realize I wasn't getting a job, I was really upset. Crash and Burn.
I was driving around Richmond to kill time and to try to take my mind off things. The fact that I was headed to Blood Pressure clinic to DO massages didn't really help me feel better about not getting a job. Oh well.
I got to the clinic at 1. I got Cole to come out and help me carry my stuff upstairs. I got everything set up and then began my massages. The goal was to massage 5 employees for 30 minutes for $30 each. Well, Cole was #4 but he had patients so I couldn't massage him and I guess there really was no #5. So, I only did 3 employees for 30 minutes, but still got paid for the 2 hours I was there. $120 is a nice chunk of change! They all loved me too. I love making other people happy! :)
When I got home I started to try and figure this NCBTMB/Board of Nursing conflict out, but I don't really know what to do about it. I emailed the NCBTMB info line and Ms. Penas. Hopefully I'll get the answers I need sooner than later.
I got to Jason's at 5:30 instead of 7. He did his conference call from home instead of at the store. I started playing some DJ Hero. I paused it to make and eat dinner, we had grilled cheese and french fries. Then I finished my play list. I'm definitely getting better! Games like that are so addicting but I never knew it before. We watched Hannah Montana, House, Accidentally on Purpose, Big Bang Theory, and Castle - which were ALL amazing. I missed part 1 of the CSI trilogy but I figured I'd watch them all online, together, anyway.
I bought my ticket to see 311 at the National on November 29. :)
